WHERE TO EAT

‘La Langa’ is synonymous with ‘good food’. Its origin lies in the modest economic conditions of the inhabitants and developped in time, with the use of natural ingredients, so as to satisfy even the most demanding tastes. Nature offers a great variety of excellent products: honey, truffles, mushrooms, chestnuts, berries and medicinal herbs, like valerian and thyme. Products that can be tasted in the hospitable restaurants and inns (agriturismo) in the village. They offer typical dishes of the Langhe kitchen: ‘agnolotti del plin’ (ravioli), ‘bagna cauda’ (anchovies, garlic, olive oil), ‘polenta’, wild boar, hare, ‘bunet’ (a kind of pudding), hazelnut cake, ‘acciughe al verde’ (anchovies with parsley), etc. Also thanks to the meadows, abundant with good herbs, the different cheeses have become a flower in the buttonhole of Bossolasco. Let’s not forget that the ‘tome’ (special kind of cheeses) were already praised in the Roman period as the best ‘robiole’ of Italy. The traditional ‘Toma di Bossolasco’ is renowned and well-known for its delicate taste; excellent in combination with honey and ‘cugnà’, a traditional sauce made of the pulp of grapes, pears, nuts and roasted hazelnuts.
